I think bigger volume cuts are difficult on bigger guys. The essential drape gets lost.
I think structure works best. I think strictly tailored CCP scales up well to a 52/54. The high cut armhole being the only issue if you go mad on the chins and dips.
Yeah at least that's the approach I've been taking to clothing purchases. Not that I'm super built, but I'm short which further doesn't help so I end up quite stocky for my frame with a pretty sizable drop. Pulling off loose/drapey requires a lot more chops and creativity/ingenuity than I seem to possess :/ Any pieces I've tried on just make me look really fat, which isn't the end of the world by any means, but was fat forever so down to try something different :)
Fuuma, high break on the jacket, patch pockets, colours and proposrtions all work beautifully.
Aussy, you might adjust the volume drop between top and bottom. Might just be the photo but the pants look alarmingly thin.
And rounding out the volume discussion, you definitely could balance with a bigger draped look. Not "stop making sense", more Yohji classics.
you're maybe the tenth person i've heard to make similar statement..
You wouldn't believe the number of people who can ask me for coke in a day. I just look like I take/sell a lot of drugs, not that there is anything wrong with that.

actually its just my legs that are alarmingly thin
I might go the opposite route and tighten up everything but the jacket
I can't see myself going full Yohji, too much fabric
I hear what you're saying though
