i never said more than something else - i just explained the reason.

these branded elements give the wearer access to the approval from (brand-aware) peers that he/she often is seeking, and also in any case identify a specific brand as the source of the product to these peers, so that they are reminded/informed of which brand to desire and possibly purchase. next time they see a dangly string in a store, they will be more tempted to open their wallets.
