i guess i ought to start putting smileys in my posts. of course it's too much information. that was the point even from the first photo. i mean, who wants to look at male feet? (sup vanna...)

anyway, the flip-flops aren't hand-cut in italy. they are molded. in china. totally worth it.

      #morenorick

I look like an extra from William Friedkin's Cruising.

      Looks good Shucks!

I love the Rick Flops, although I still dislike the holes in the bottom...

Fortunately, they fill up with rocks rather quickly.

PS I'm a lefty, so I tie my shoes incorrectly, which causes the wonky looking shoelaces.

Nice hair. Personal nitpick but I don't like the top button done up, otherwise looks cool.

Yup. From Walmart, not Rick. For 2 bucks. Exactly like yours, minus the holes. :)

You misinterpreted my quote, though. "I went straight for the flip-flops" meaning, I went to check them out on the then-new e-commence site. Just like I'd say "I went straight for the leather"; doesn't mean I'm actually buying all the leather. Of course it doesn't mean I'm not, either.

And DamageX – I'm a lefty, too. Have I been tying my shoes wrong all these years? I don't even know what that means, but clearly I'm concerned.

Me too. I tie them the way any preschooler would.

                Hahahaha! :)

Always nice to find other lefties Time to have an SZ lefties group haha!

Basically, I mix the loops up as I am tying so instead of the shoelaces hanging horizontally, they are vertical:

When I switch to the other shoe, sometimes my brain will make the correction and I'll have one shoelace vertical and the other horizontal.

It's not handedness (I'm also a lefty), it's just the difference between wrapping the lace from behind vs around front.

@shuit: FINALLY arrived. ;) Love the action shot and issey+yy look. Seems comfy yet classy and I' like the long jacket with long rise.

                    Channeled my inner 30s.

being a lefty as well it always helped me to tie laces in: see pic below:

also just curious, what arm do you guys wear your watch on? I wear mine on the right...

I'm left handed and I never consciously thought there was a different way to tie laces than the right handed beings i have to exist with.

                        Stagename, looking good!

Stagename, are those Astaires? That's the best I've seen them look, I keep trying to make them work for me but have bought and returned 2 pairs now. Well done.

Thanks! They're my third pair. Thrice the charm! ;) First is an oversized pair for baggy fit, second were the wrapped ones and didn't fit me well. The new "easy" astaire seems to be less of a weird fit as they are not so high waisted, but I haven't tried them yet. In any case, good luck in your quest!

                              Thanks Zam!

I'm a lefty as well and I was completely unaware that I might be tying my shoes differently/that there was a different way. Mind blown.
