^IMO it is not as much going by the SZ textbook as keeping intact the interest of a certain design. Getting the shoulders of an oversized CDG jacket to fit properly wouldn't make much sense either, right ?
Pilgrim got himself a jacket that fits his taste, I won't discuss this. But it is certainly a bit less Rick Owens than it was before.I can see a hat, I can see a cat,
I can see a man with a baseball bat.

^ I don't know about that. Ill-fitting, ultra-tight, oversized... I see designers doing it far beyond our particular niche (which still has to be defined, since we all don't see it the same way). Hell, Dsquared2 did it. And are Yohji and Rei just niche designers ?
Antifit is apparently the easiest way to go when it comes to be creative. Some get it more right than others - see Shuck's post on the construction of his RO shorts.
As for the rest, not so sure, since those bunched sleeves are exactly what makes difficult to wear that kind of jacket with a basic pair of jeans, blue, grey or black. I'd say you have to push things a bit further to make it really work.
(But yes, probably not the most extravagant RO leather jacket to begin with, on that I can agree.)

Pilgrim, I hate to do this to you, since you already shortened the sleeves and any criticism doubly hurts AFTER you've made an irreversible decision, but I must side with Mail-Moth and Shucks here.
By shortening the sleeves, you've made the already most generic RO jacket model into one more so, and as the moth rightly noted, taking away the designer's intention. Which begs the question why you bought it in the first place. Now, you can tell me you bought it because you wanted to and fuck off. Certainly Johnny would approve, and that's fair enough. But, that's shallow and we are on SZ after all . The way it looks now, especially pared with the rest of your "I'm-just-a-dude" outfit, it could've been a very nice jacket from any number of brands, from Gucci to Michael Bastian. It's not even that the sleeves are shortened, it's that they're shortened so much - the cuffs barely hit the wrists. It ends up making it look a little ill-fitting in the opposite direction of too short. I understand the frustration with some of Rick's excessive arm lengths, I took a good 5cm off my Stooges and it still hits my thumb knuckle, but that looks chopped too far. Still, the damage is done and hopefully you're enjoying the jacket - this is just the internet, after all, and the rest of the jacket fits spot-on.
