I've been tracking the phenomenon for a while now and overall I see a dip in outfit sharing websites (e.g., lookbook) and forum participation to WAYWT threads and a hike of Tumblr (before) and instagram (now). I'd associate it with a greater trend of moving away from centralized platforms organized around a "single" subject and/or with strongly established hierarchies towards decentralized platforms where people have (1) a greater reach and (2) the capacity to pollinate through cross-referencing multiple genres (by using hashtags); combined with a greater shift where these websites are used in an entrepreneurial manner to accumulate an audience (a-la blog) rather than in an anonymous manner to participate to a community ...

^ There's also little to no discussion or interaction, past clicking a "like" button (or a heart where Tumblr/Instagram are concerned...even "like" becomes too non-committal, it has to be "love").

trying to take what all the mods have taught me through the years and finally apply it.
moving into more of a "country mouse" vintage look as opposed the to the city ninja vibe. it works for me since I'm now spending more of my time filming on location and playing on the road. trying to work in a wardrobe that I can live in for weeks at a time.

Like I said, I think instant gratification of narcissistic tendencies (follwers/likes) is why Instagram is so successful. I really don't think it goes beyond that. Except of course, it's the lowest of the low denominators and we will all become fucking monkeys soon.

^ nice. To me a classic look that can carry through a range of social settings and events.

I'm typically wearing something very similar in style these days because I don't have to think about it. Add on a selection of jewelry and go about your day in relative comfort.

                                Thanks guys.

Any opinion on whether or not I should get the pants hemmed? They're J pants so obviously they'll stack but I fear it might be a bit excessive as it stands.
