Nice, Dudley. You sure can pull of a summer look.

loveee the combo of the n(n) and the julius tank. two pieces work so well like that; one an extension of the other.

recently picked up this V-A wool jacket and would like some comments as regards the overall length and fit

i know the sleeves are a bit too big in the hands and will see to them...is it ever permissible to fold up the jacket cuffs as i have seen some people do?

also is it ok for the length of the tee to exceed that of the jacket? or should they be roughly equal, or the tee slightly shorter?

rest of the fit - mostly julius, gloves ma+

The blazer seems big overall. Maybe because it's unbuttoned in the photo, the shoulders are very padded, and the sleeves are long, but something tells me it's just big in real life (looking at the front button position and the lapels).

There is really no hard-and-fast rule to the questions you are asking. That's kind of the point of this place, no? If it looks good, do it. I wear extended tee under blazers all the time, just pick the right one.

I would say in this particular case rolling up sleeves will not look good, because the blazer is very structured - padded shoulders, angular lines. If it was an Ann, PH, or a GBS blazer, I'd say, roll them up all you want. As a matter of fact Ann always made deliberately long sleeves and working buttonholes because she likes the rolled up, whereas why Rick makes monkey sleeves is beyond me.

Also you need slimmer pants and black shoes to pull this off.

            I hope this helps.

wow thats fast, thanks for your views. always had problems with structured formalwear because i am a 46 in the chest region and 44 in the torso.

so, the jacket is actually tight in the chest - i work out, but in the torso it is just right. maybe because it's open and also the awkward selfie posture, it seems too big. i shall reduce the sleeves.

@dudley shirt and tank really are perfect together. looked like one piece on the first glance. love those raf shoes in the last fit a bit more, though.

Thanks galia and yay. The shoes are a lot of fun to wear. Somehow, they are interesting enough to be a focus of a simpler fit or support a crazier fit yet subtle enough where there's not too much going on.

This I like. The length of the tee seems to work as a nice contrast to the short jacket.

Thanks Faust and destroymebaby, the longer vers. of the tee also adds a bit of depth to the fit which is another reason I preferred it being at full length than in line with the short jacket.
