For photos taken in my last apartment, I used a Nikon 5100 on a tripod. I somehow lost that camera in my move so I'm waiting to buy a new DSLR, probably the 5500 model. (I destroyed the one previous to that, a Nikon 5000, in the rain after the SZ party at the SoHo Grand!)
In the meantime, I've got a handy Sony RX100 iii point and shoot. It's set up on a tripod, and I have it coordinated with my iPhone, which acts as a remote and viewfinder(!) Like most Sony cameras, the RX100 line has a really confusing control panel, but it's got a huge light sensor and a fantastic Zeiss lens for a palm-of-your-hand point and shoot camera. It's great for when you don't want to lug a DSLR around...

very nice - i have a nikon d7100, cheap tripod, and umbrella lighting for inside shots. nothing beats that outdoor lighting though.Comment
