I really do appreciate the silhouette, but a lighter tee or shirt would beautifully emphasize the coat, as chant just said.

Brown, light grey, kaki green.

Not sure about brown, but the latter two would be good - especially the green, considering this is a real military coat. I wore this basically to get into a car and out of the car and into a restaurant, so I was more concerned with the dark red nicely contrasting with the all black. The coat just caught my eye in the closet, and I took it because I haven't worn it in a while. I forgot how much I love it.
