I thought you already owned these for a long time John?

What about meeting tomorrow, weather seems to get overcast...

@rubber sole discussion: Faust is totally right. I dont know how you guys use your boots, but mine get a load of wear once i walk in them since i have super flat feet...the back always gets used down within no time. Thus its essential to put a protection sole under them so that the leather/wood bottom gets not damaged.
And leather is also not sealed like rubber, thus if it gets really superwet it can come through the sole which would harm the inner life of the shoe (i think).
And once you have slipped in rainy weather you will never ever walk again on non protected shoes.
For the sound of leather: You can add a complete leather sole on the heel. It looks just like a regular sole, super nice. But the cobbler told me that it is really only for people who dont feel comfortable with shoes with "ugly" rubber heels. It gets used faster and has less cushion. And its more expensive...but anyway...for a boot of 1400Euro...at least it makes the same sound like your normal heel

"I thought you already owned these for a long time John?"

Only the "short ankle boots" in reversed leather.
This is the long shaft version I was waiting for a long time!

"What about meeting tomorrow, weather seems to get overcast..."

Looks good ... depending on a client meeting ... will send you a sms before 10am.

I don't follow you people when I read that a ruined leather sole signs the end of the whole boot. Leather soles can easily be replaced by a good cobbler. I don't want to be too long on this matter, which is rather boring when explained thoroughly, but as far as I know, soles can always be repaired given that the upper part of the stitching is intact. How could you ruin a pair just with that ?

And yes, I agree : rubber soles do kill something of the pleasure of wearing great shoes - but well, they make rainy weather a little less lethal, so... But, Theaddict, rubber soles are in fact not so great when the shoes really get wet, because they trap humidity : moisture can appear then, and cause huge damages ; it is far easier to avoid this with leather soles, for they breath, and dry much better for that reason.

Too expensive, around 300 E, if my memory is good (in addition they're now quite difficult to find). Would have kopped if they weren't too expensive. I like them a lot too. Will wear my poor NB and increase the number of infamous sandals wearers' gang soon...

i just took a pair of dee dee's and chopped / frayed them with scissors. they normally run around $300? as for the weight, thank you. i figured... sample sizes are sample sizes for a reason!

babyshamble, they were originally $500 at barneys, so $300 now, if you can find a pair! they're very much worth it i think. summer is no longer boring...

Do you guys usually wear the shoes for a bit first, and then put rubber soles on after a little bit of wear? That's what some sales associates have suggested to me.
