Yup, but that's because my cobbler won't touch dem shoes before I grind them down myself first.. They say it's such a shame not to get to walk on leather soles at least for a few days bla bla bla. Customer isn't always right I guess. I really don't care personally, but I'm tired of having the argument every time I go so I just do it to make things easier.

How could you ruin a pair just with that ?
And yes, I agree : rubber soles do kill something of the pleasure of wearing great shoes - but well, they make rainy weather a little less lethal, so... But, Theaddict, rubber soles are in fact not so great when the shoes really get wet, because they trap humidity : moisture can appear then, and cause huge damages ; it is far easier to avoid this with leather soles, for they breath, and dry much better for that reason.Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months - Oscar Wilde

Taps + vibram rubber sole = $25. Leather sole = $55. And I'd rather have the original soles intact.I can see a hat, I can see a cat,

Even though you can get a replacement leather sole, it might mess up the whole silhouette. I've never had one replaced, but I worry about whether a cobbler would have a decent match for the boot.

merz lookin' real cute as usual.
Silk the replacement job went fine. Basically got one of the layers sliced off and slapped a rubber layer on there, whole job cost about $4 USD and they are good as new. That rubber sole itself is getting worn, so i just spend about HKD 10 (hard to convert to USD...it's like less than $1.50) to get that little rubber notch where the spot is getting worn. i dunno about fucking up the silhouette, i mean they're pretty rough boots anyway
