yeah...see that's the thing - pics are never a good indicator of the living outfit.
and as long as you're comfortable thats all that matters. I would like to dress in Yakuza style Yohji outfits day to day, but the reality is i'm t-shirt/jeans all day every day. theres always gonna be praise and dissent, shouldn't really let either get to your head.

I'm not young anymore!
But how young are we talking about here?
I wore Converse back in the mid 80s from I was 10-11 till I was maybe 14. This had very much to do with that I played basket ball and listen to hip hop. Then came Nirvana and Pearl Jam in 90-91, and it was Doc Martin. I haven't worn a pair of sneakers/trainers since other than for sport/exercise purpose. Are you afraid of women, Doctor?
Of course.

I've never been into contemporary references in clothes. Jeans, sneakers, doc martens, all the subculture teenager fashion is exactly what i'm trying to get away from. I wanna have something more universal with the evolution of the garment and reinvention of the garment as references. it should be quite modernistic, or completely science fiction for my taste.
