hello all, i would like to start working with leather and i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to find large slabs of raw leather that i could work with....
interesting. Do you tan the leather yourself? I am going to do so too this week. I have a leather supply in Europe but not sure how huge the amount is that you need?

many thanks
not completely sure what you're looking for... Are you wanting full or half rawhides so that you can tan/dye yourself? Or are you looking for just large skins that are already processed for garment/item constuction?
To bring rawhide to workable leather is quite a process and not something really easy to do on a small scale. It's quite labor intensive and there is trial and error not to mention the expense and toxic chemicals.
Let me know what sort of approach you're going for and I can help you out a bit more!
if you're going for soft, get some slink. It's unborn calf skins
ever so Peta friendly!
a couple of weeks ago my uncle asked me if i wanted the skins from some still born lambs, but i had to do the dirty work. they got buried intact. no dedication to my practice.
