I used to have that rule, but now I buy bottoms often without the matching top because I'm not a big underwire fan. Triangle bras, however, I have a soft spot for.
That wasn't supposed to be a pun.
A lot of brands started making more triangle bras (they call them Lounge Bras these days; oh marketing trying to convince me I need an extra bra for lounging).
I am just too lazy to try to mix and match my underwear before I've had my third cup of coffee in the morning.
And speaking of A.F. Vandevorst, have you seen this?
I knew I should have posted the black set. Also: nice stocking show over there.

Ha! A good marketing spin always makes me grin, though I can't help but feel agreeable with the word lounge. It's perfect
for lingerie.
As much as I like a certain severity in my clothes, expensive frilly underthings always turn my head. And fill my drawers.

You still can. And should.
And while we are on the topic of hosiery: Helmut for Wolford
Don't get me started on Wolford! I would spend all my money at this tiny lingerie shop back in the day on all the early, strange-patterned pantyhose & stockings. They were so delicate, yet I somehow managed to keep them for years – and it was always a sad day when the first pinhole struck.
Until your post, I'd forgotten that Helmut Newton shot a number of their campaigns. Hell, I'd forgotten about Wolford!
Thank you for the welcome reminder.
