I am considering a pair of Margiela Tabi flats and would appreciate some practical insight from those who own any Tabi boots. I wear tights/stockings a lot but can only seem to find tabi socks online. Is there another way around the toe, or have you been able to make regular stockings work?

I'm trying to remember but when I wore tabis I'm sure I wore regular socks. Perhaps that's why they were so uncomfortable though ;-)
I would go barefoot or wear proper tabi socks...

I buy tabi socks from Daiso. They're kind of awful quality and the biggest men's size is STILL a little too small for my 39IT foot. But they do the job.
If i want to wear stockings I actually wear the socks and footless stockings tucked into the sock. But my tabi's are ankle boots so this is hidden in the shaft.
I'm not sure what to recommend for the flats.

I'm also looking for a pair! If you come across any in my size let me know! I'll return the favour, you're a 36 or 37 IIRC?

I do wear the the Tabi ballet flat quite a lot during the warmer months and Tabi tights exist! Well, at least in Japan. I always buy a bunch whenever I am in Tokyo or have a friend send them. Maybe a look at yahoo auctions or Rakuten would help?

Another option would be open toe tights tights or stirrups like American Apparel and just about every dance wear company in the world sell.

I've found that the margiela flats widen a lot with wear. I have narrow feet and have to wear insoles and all kinds of goot petals after a couple of months.

Honestly, I bought a few tabi socks online and from local stores but found that just wearing my normal socks has worked fine so long as they're thin enough to fit comfortable between your toes. But whatever floats your boat!

Thank you for the advice, everyone! If I end up buying them I'm sure I'll end up trying to make regular tights work anyway. I'll have another look at Rakuten/yahoo. Surely a need for Tabi tights is a valid excuse for a trip to Japan?!
