i may have misunderstood what you were looking for though. crocodiles are like a place to bury strangers without the noise but it sounds like you may be looking for just loud rock stuff like PBS in which case i wouldn't really know where to start making suggestions.

oh well, I meant like APTBS, with like the same amount of noise, just not too noisy... :) listening to flash of light atm, so far it's kinda good. a bit like APTBS sure but not really what I thought it would be like.

Maybe check out Skywave, not quite as noisy/distorted or even Blank Dogs for something more synth driven

I think the story was Skywave broke up and Oliver Ackermann formed APTBS and the other personnels formed Ceremony?

As for bands with similar sound, I'd go with Alcian Blue, Film School (the album Hideout), and Ghost of the Russian Empire

i recently saw devotchka live and they sounded just as good as on the albums. this is an absolutley phenomenal band. very talented and original.

and also i dont' know if this has been mentioned but i recommend http://woxy.com/ for discovering new music. i listen to them constantly...

I think Hideout is the album that sounds more similar to APTBS, their other album does not have the same musical style...

all right, the alcian blue albums were good, but a bit slow or something, I want more speeeeed and energy in the music. but can't say they were bad. going to listen to hideout now
