of course it was lazy. that's why i put it in quotes. this is stylezeitgeist. i wasn't trying to write a thesis. anyway, i would never mention boltanski or tim burton in the same breath as a rothko or newman......i have a boltanski book in which he claims all art that is made outside of france is bullsh**, which is funny.

Tafkap: can you try to make sense over the course of, say, 3-4 posts in a row? You sometimes manage to do it within one so maybe there is hope.

Boltanski expo was awful because it was the highly unaware, pontificating, overwhelming display of fascistic power of someone sitting near the top of the art world pile and the bastard had the audacity to make this a discourse on the holocaust.

went crazy last night in honor of final no sales tax day on amazon. these are all books i was planning on getting in the next few months and since it's better to get them sooner rather than later, i went ahead and took advantage of the final 8% discount and bought what i could from amazon affiliates.

still, i think i went a bit too far.

                  Yes!
Interestingly, the only way to actually order one is through a wire transfer.
It has this cohesiveness with an opening essay and an introduction/material list of each collection that really compels you to read the whole thing in one sitting.
Not to mention its size makes for a good bookend for keeping SZ mags from falling over

                    looks like a nice book

you can order it through Amazon for $45, just have to wait a few weeks for it to ship over. Always a copy hiding on abebooks as well:
T: THE NEW YORK TIMES STYLE MAGAZINE: THE SOLITARY ARTIST, Kanye West: Culture. April 12, 2015 by Needleman, Deborah (Editor-in-Chief); The New York Times Editorial Staff and a great selection of related books, art and collectibles available now at AbeBooks.com.

Looking back at his first post i think Tafkap may be the proprieter of the One Year of Books blog, glad to see he's back from
vacation and cracking open the collection again.

In keeping with the theme, Photoeye just shipped out my copy of David Armstrong's Night & Day, hope it turns out as good as i expect it to be. Also just found a new copy of Dick Jewell's Hysteric Glamour book tucked away at Antenne Books site. Other than that, someone let me know if they know where to grab some Rafal Milach books for regular price still.

The Strand Bookstore had a few copies of this listed for $75 in Like New condition just 2 days ago. Worth giving them a call if this isn't just some in-joke.

i only know this cuz i just grabbed a copy on Tuesday. i'm as conflicted as anyone on Richardson, but i like to sit back and enjoy the spectacle of it all (just hope he'd not dropping trousers in all the pics). I really enjoyed his Mom/Dad book and i figure i should take another step into Terryland before his Terrywood book comes out later this year.

Definitely an in-joke. And yes, that's exactly where I saw it. It's enough to reignite the whole art or porn debate. I don't know what exactly do you aim to get out of it that you can't get on any run-of-the-mill porn website.

I acquired mine several months ago as I assumed the price would only increase through other outlets overtime, like every other fashion book I want ...At least mine is signed I guess...
