bummer on ko. keep on being persistent with the site!

my gf's cousin used to work with wylie dufresne's gf @ rachel ray magazine. his gf said that wylie doesn't cook for her. bummer.

oh, a hidden jewel for a good lunch prix fixe is at perry st bistro, a jean george joint. for $25 i had such delicious dishes (a really nice rare tuna burger), these tasty steak tips and a dessert. fuck, i'm hungry now.

/\ 2nd perry st. for lunch. although i did not like the various gold diggers and used up rich housewives at adjoining tables, it made for a wonderful afternoon eating there with my wife. it's half empty on the weekday - take a day off and take your SO.

wd-50 is a lot of fun. not every dish was a knockout, but every dish was at least interesting. i thought the desserts were superb. service was good; that said, i've only been to a handful of places where i'd qualify the service as excellent. we liked it enough to discuss a return trip to order a la carte.

I had a friend just go there and they said it was good. Not sure about the CCP and MA+ though. They would not know...

that may be true - it's hard to strut the balance between professional critics and peeps. one may be too subjective (or worse, paid), another may be not sophisticated enough (although one would think, they proles' opinions would balance out statistically)

wisdom of crowds and all that... i look at the top-rated restaurants on yelp and remember why i have to balance out sites like that with a professional opinion. i love looking at one-star reviews on amazon: "amazon sent me the wrong book"--so you gave the book 1 star? i feel the same way about tripadvisor. i suppose a consensus will build at a certain threshold... it just might not be a consensus i like.
