i know what you are referring to it's just that "scotch" isn't the right way of doing it. "scotch" is a noun (the drink), "scottish" is an adjective. I'm "scotch" myself :)

i understand perfectly what you mean but by "scotch ale", i was referring to the style or type of beer and not it's country of origin.
the skullsplitter is a "scotch ale" of scottish origin - a scottish "scotch ale". much in the same that the berkshire bourbon barrel scotch ale is an american "scotch ale". christ, this is too sobering for me. need a drink.

I'm not much of a drinker, but I discovered awhile ago I enjoy a good stout, probably because of my love for espresso.
