As for belgium style: I'm going to have to recommend the Alagash Triple.. and if you are lucky enough to get your hands on it, pick up the Allagash Curieux (which is the triple aged in oak bourbon barrels)

I promise you won't be disapointed.

As for stouts, I enjoyed Founder's Breakfast Stout over the weekend. Had a lot of hype behind it, and boy did it deliver.

Easily one of the best stouts I have ever had.

(who can spot the ccp?) :D

I've only tried stuff from Mort Subite and Lindemans which are the most famous examples of lambics, not really my sort of drink but I don't think you can go wrong with them.

Lindeman's normal "lambic" is not a lambic at all. Fruit is added at the end for fruitiness, whereas in a lambic, fruit is added at the beginning only. Oud Beersel and Cantillon are two excellent breweries making top notch fruit beer. Oud Beersel only lists a cherry on their website, but in the past they did a raspberry as well. Cantillon has all kinds of interesting ones, including Iris.

it's actually not that bad. but it's not really beer. and it goes down way too fast...

have anyone tried that super-expensive Nøgne Ø dark horizon beer? people who tested it says it is the best, even if it's price is like 20e a bottle...

The snooty side of the family apparently comes from Rochefort, so this is a mandatory check-out... !!

BTW, there's ALWAYS Hoegaarden in my refrigerator, light & delicious. Apparently it's available on tap -- maybe in heaven?
