This is the root of it. A lot of what people in the limelight wear is not dictated by them but by the stylist(s) they have on board that are hired to be part of the well crafted image of said celebrity. It's already well known that these folks buy regularly from the LA stores for their clients.

I once saw Lucy Liu at Fred Segal with her stylist...she looked deathly bored. I was surprised that she actually went with her to the shop at all...I figured most of them would bring them a selection to choose from.
