The G-20 Summit kicked off in my city tonight. All the hipsters and crusty punks have been sleeping in the park down the street that I walk my dog in. Today the "protestors" broke out the windows of my bank, but luckily left my favorite bar alone. Downtown looks like a military compound.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people in large numbers.

The empty lot across from where i live is filled with tons of delicious Amaranth plants. My future mother-in-law has been collecting it and sauteeing it almost daily and I can't get enough of it! All this time, a delicious and tender leafy green existed feet from my front door and I didn't even know it.

I love foraged foods.

damn, you live in pittsburgh? that's rough. i grew up there. i'm clueless as to why it's the site for the g20.

It was chosen because it's an old, failing steel town that transformed into a thriving city. It's been voted best US city to live in for the past few years based on economy, universities, cultural outlets, cost of living and health care. Apparently it's also a leading tech and eco-friendly city. It's a beautiful city now. Limited in some ways, but very nice. Oh, and did I mention the Steelers?

I'm not bragging by any means. I'm actually looking to move for awhile due to the small nature of the town. But I don't mind living here. (*Totally kidding about the Steelers)
