Uncompromising, experimental, artistic expression; With a serious emphasis on technique.

          Kills, pretty harmony?

          A therapeutic effect; Academic endeavors.

          A consequence of aesthetic, reform.

I, Relapse / Reminisce - Love and prefer, classical harmony. ;)

Johnny - The discordant layers, of woodwinds by the professor and Billone are fascinating.

          Currently: Mozart, Symphonies No. 38 - 41.

          A relatively new, audiophile recording.

                thanks for bumping, sebastian!

moondog and harry partch are interesting not only for their creative zaniness, but also for their proficiency in crafting entirely new instruments and sounds

                          both extremes

A (currently 23, eventually 52 part) guide for those who have no clue where to start with contemporary classical. Enjoy.

Tom Service introduces his new series on contemporary classical music, and explains how we need your help

Since classique's link to Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit is dead, I thought that I might post these two versions, which are some of the best IMO.

                                Michelangeli's Gaspard de la Nuit

And Walter Gieseking's even more sinister version of the same piece. (the early recording might have helped)

Tradition ist Bewahrung des Feuers und nicht Anbetung der Asche.
