i am listening right now to serge gainsbourg too ;)
"percussions" album, one of his bests imho. there is
a fantastic dvd with his TV shows. recommended ;)

yep, it's called complete, two dvds.
those very first performances were
the strongest point of this collection,
from the late 50, early 60 ;) and the
whole melody nelson movie, so
so unique.

lately i have been into his "rock around the bunker" and "love on the beat"

can't listen to those late albums... hm,
imho his last genious record was "l'homme à
tête de chou" even though it was released year
after "rock around the bunker" sounds more like
a continuation of melody nelson or this kind of
concept.

i agree that l'homme was his last good "serious" record but there is an incomparable disposable sleaziness to his subsequent offerings that is worth investigating.
