Yeah, Basho is fantastic, and I'm gonna second the vote for the faloconer's arm, although I'm partial to the Blue Lotus, myself. Definitely an artist I prefer to listen to on vinyl. And while you can't really pick between Basho and Fahey, I definitely find myself listening to Fahey more often.

And yeah - honestly, I have a bit of a hard time enjoying the contemporary guys like Six Organs or James Blackshaw. They just don't compare to the originals, like Fahey, Basho et al. It's strange - I normally wouldn't care about this stuff, but with folk guitar, it makes a huge difference for me. Fortunately, a few of those fellows are still alive - I saw Michael Chapman back in sept, and it was great...

for straight up guitar playing, it's all about the falconer's arm vol 2.

but the vocals on voice of the eagle are just so completely fucking insane.

the total abuse record is pretty good. i haven't given it a good listen yet, but i always feel as though the incorporation of power electronics to this music is a bit contrived. but i'd still see these dudes. i think they were in a really embarrassing emo band.

i saw gas live. it was cool, but needed to be WAAAAAAAAY louder.

Excellent post-LLN act producing some absolutely raw, gritty, demonic stuff. Some of the most otherworldly and downright creepy BM vocals I've heard in a while. Not even gonna bother posting the name here since they got a little overzealous with their nod to the LLN scene.
