How can you not like Royksopp!? Melody A.M. is one of my favorite records of all time.
As my musical taste has expanded a lot in recent years, I guess I should give it a second try. When I heard it couple of years ago I thought it's great but still not a favourite.

The new Flying Lotus album You're Dead! is an extraordinary piece of work, one of the best things the year 2014 has produced. He's carrying a torch for jazz and fusion, and simultaneously omnivorously chewing up and synthesizing what's come since, and in the end making something radical and new and embodying most everything I love about music. I thought Perch Patchwork was great.
I´ve played in a technical band myself (not as crazy as M&A used to be, but still) and as you progress you can get tired of it and move on to more harmonic music.
