i can't say which of her albums is my favorite, I am partial to Never Forever and the Dreaming; Hounds of Love is too great for me to rate really (i know that is nonsensical)---Aerial is really good though, have you given that one a chance?broken mirror, white terror

Albums I'm most excited about Spring 2009? Probably the new Patrick Wolf (double album!) and PJ Harvey and John Parish's collaboration.
and John Parish collaboration. Definitely one of the
most anticipated ...
PJ Harvey and John Parish... Urn with Dead Flowers In A Drained Pool
I need your light
Darling love lies
And if you gave it to me
I'd hold it in the palm of my hand
Like a good luck charm or a vice
And I'll reach up like a child to receive it
There is no more sad
There is no more leave
I've got sun on my back
I'm in love again
Take me inside
Your war love light
And if he took me
I'd hold him up to the light
Like a god, or a good luck charm, or a vice
And I'd open up like a child to believe it
There is no more sad
There is no more leave
I've got sun on my back
I'm in love again
But still you can't give your peace to me
Are you afraid of women, Doctor?
Of course.

here's a project for you kids...
anyone remember providence noise rock band the laurels? every once in a blue moon i remember them, and then realize i don't have any of their records anymore. i used to have one lp, which was sorta darker, noisier pixies-ish...and then i had a pretty great cassette tape from them, from when they resurfaced in the late 90's as part of the whole providence noise/rock thing that was happening then.
either way, i don't remember if they were any good, but i'd really like to hear that stuff again.
help me out.
(the latest six finger satellite record is what brought this up...yeah, i know, 6fs have a new record out. who knew?)
edit: - the cassette i have isn't the laurels - it was bossman, which was pretty much laurels. i'd be down for that as well, if you have it.

probably the easiest way is just to write them,
they have a myspace, so shouldn't be a problem.
anyway, very good band, reminds me of an
early mbv eps.
i've been listening to a new hototogitsu, i mean
it's from last year, and for me "green" is still their
best thing so far...
and one of the highlights during last weeks has been
wavves imho, he plays next month in vienna, so will
check it on live, but his album is superb, pretty sunny
melodies. a bit like pumice, but more poppy in a way.LOUPEON — archival fashion project.
