I am on an Almodovar spree lately.
Just saw Hable con ella, also enjoyed it.
Haven't stopped thinking about Los abrazos rotos though, probably my favorite by him that far.
Next up on the list is La flor de mi secreto.
I have dreams of orca whales and owls
But I wake up in fear

Just thought about the part in Samsara where the family is lowering their loved one into the ground in that shotgun casket. You've really gotta give it to Fricke for putting together some really interesting material.....

Watched django unchained last night and liked it but it kinda dragged on for too long and there was a very cringeworthy QT cameo as well!

Watch The Yellow Sea over the weekend. Not as good as Hong-jin Na's first effort The Chaser'. Very long, violent, and disjointed. Nothing to put you off if you like this sort of thing. Yun-seok Kim is as intense as usual.

The South Korean market for these thriller/revenge films is phenomenal.

I agree with everything you've said. I love The Chaser.

Both of those movies were excellent. Yellow Sea may not be as good as The Chaser, but they both are good in their own right.

                    I wasn't saying otherwise.

Finally watched Delicatessen. I hated it. Like I hated Amelie, City of Lost Children, Alien Resurrection. Jean-Pierre Jeunet cannot make a good film. Or maybe I'm not French enough.

The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue aka Let Sleeping Corpses Lie aka Do No Speak Ill of the Dead aka Don't Open the Window aka Non si deve profanare il sonno dei morti. One of the Italian (and Spanish) 70's horror classics. Bad dubbing, extreme gore, nonsensical plot, and some token nudity. Eight thumbs up.

Yes that is a great film. Ray Lovelock looks cool as hell also.

I also think Jeunet makes extremely bad cinema and I am very French

^^Same. I thought this was a great performance and the entire movie was shot well and did remind me of various aspects of the South, where I grew up, so there was some sentiment there that touched me as well. Great film.
