Just received my Scarred Black size 9 this afternoon. First pair of CCP. Beautiful. Went ahead and took it to a cobbler and had the thinnest vibram soles put on.
Thx to Pnod and Albert for patiently answering my Q's regarding CCP sizing.
Special thx to darkanimal for the pickup.

I checked with Mateo about size 6 and he says that it can be special ordered.

Ahhhhhh, so you got a pair of those in black too right? Other than Pnods, who else picked a pair in green gray? Are these boots going like hot cakes due to all the frenzy on this thread?

don't you find the leather soles slippery?
[/quote]
kind of destroying the original integrity of the piece, no?
Distraction is an obstruction of the construction.
while the boots original state is changed, i'd prefer that over having to replace the leather sole with some other inferior piece of leather. plus it'll look all weird too.
i dont see any green in my pair. its more grey/white. i hope so. there's nothing more satisfactory than hyping cool things on SZ. because then you can plan outings.
xadam
other than the intial wear or two the soles aren't slippery. i wore the aforementioned grey boots all day yesterday, walked from times square to A and they are the most comfortable boots i own. funny though i saw tiger on my way to A and a bird had just shat on me and he told me his kill him, so i guess it depends on your foot. but no slippage at all. i have fallen down my concrete steps in my apt and nearly broken my arm w a pair of newly soled YSL combat boots, so i'm extra careful there.

i wear down a thin vibram sole through the heel area just as fast as one without. they're really just cosmetic, if you get a thicker one, yeah that has a more lasting effect. im sure they do cut down on the slippery. it does take a long ass time to wear down a ccp sole, so by the time its worn down one's probably bought next seasons and want to sell these.
i'm thinking about getting "taps" on some older heels, is it rec'd to wear them down a bit and then get them? or straight away? but don't you then walk all funny.
i'm going to think about them til the next shipment arrives...but i did get that goddam VA cardi that you were trying on...fuck...

taps are essential if you're not putting vibrams on the heel IMO. i put some on my cdiems and it wasn't too bothersome while i walked (the heels weren't worn down at all).
nice buy on the VA cardi. looked much better on you than on me. the sleeves made my arms look like sausages.
I also find it painful to look when the leather sole is all scraped and worn out. It makes the shoes look more used than it really is. I cherish my things as if they are the last one in its existence. You never know, it could very well be the last pair in that size in pristine condition. Maybe its my anal retentiveness talking. I'm picky as fuck so adding the rubber sole is must.
