LOL. This is so true. It is actually the best statement I have read on SZ.

Yes, so show us your pictures B.

These recent pictures have given me hope, I like many things here, and love the sound of a fabric asymmetric "leather", would come in handy.

There is of course a vast difference between saying that Poell has contempt for the wearer and his clothes have contempt for their wearers. I'm arguing that the latter is the case.

The two least interesting conversations to have about Poell are

              1. If he/his designs/his marketing technique are elitist or not.
              2. What the man himself thinks about the business of fashion.
And "When the prince has gathered about him
"All the savants and artists, his riches will be fully employed."

could you elaborate on the difference here please?

cause since clothing as far as I know have no consciousness and are created by someone,
i'd wanna know what's meant by the clothing themselves having contempt but the creator doesn't..........

I don't buy into the idea of contempt neither from him, no the clothing themselves (if clothing can even be as such)
what think is that he has a specific vision of clothing and he is uncompromising and relentless in that vision.............at least thats what i get form the work................
“You know,” he says, with a resilient smile, “it is a hard world for poets.”
                .................................................. .......................

Since it is like this at the seat of the pants as well as both sides, the piece must be huge and the pattern is awesome.

Incredible work right there. Would be interested in seeing more views of the dead end coat but I imagine for tailoring/contouring reasons the vertical underarm seams are classic ones with the whole back panel being a singular item with the dead end seams.
Not adding much to the conversation but just wanted to say I agree. When I first came across the pictures of the dead seams it made me wonder how far he took the concept into his construction. And man...am I impressed. Aesthetically it might look a bit strange but it's something that grows on you because of the appreciation of the work that goes into it.

Yes, I am looking forward to seeing some of these pieces in person to get a better idea of internal construction.

I don't see contempt. How can you sell contempt. If clothes design is art, it is applied art. No one has to buy these clothes. Contempt would be a dead end. This line of argument is over.

What I see is an incredibly inventive, challenging but extremenly wearable collection. This hits all CCP buttons.

agree/\.with a few exceptions (dude-looks-like-a-won-ton jacket esp) this is pretty wearable stuff.
