I doubt those were made for long, they pop up rarely on yahoo or ebay. I always thought they look kind of awkward and flimsy, I prefer A1923's various versions much more. It's likely these were an inspiration though

I believe the limited number does not meant the whole year of 2005. It is usually the number of pairs in a run of that production. And agreed with Lowery, I think the drips is much better in both construction and looks.Focusing on object details

Was just on a thread where someone mentioned that a1923 sneakers are simone's most original design... maybe not? It'd be funny if they were based on an unsuccessful model.

No, I believe there was a version with an even lower ankle and with a toebox similar to the sneaker posted above, from what I remember. There used to be a low quality pic of them circling around SZ many years ago that I cannot find. The color was off-white as far as I can remember.

CORAWO
From what I gather reading bits scattered here and there, CORAWO seems to be one of the most popular cloth selections.
Can anyone share their opinion about the material (thickness, drape, weight, wear)? Particularly, what kind of weather would it be most suitable for?

Only other pair of CCP 2049s I've been able to come across. Resemblance is pretty uncanny, though at least a1923 is actually producing them. Even the treatment is fairly similar. Then again, these are supposedly just based off old military high tops anyways.
Reminds me of the "burned" trainers

Wow, makes me wonder when we'll eventually see rubberdipped sneakers branded A1923 for €3000 retail.
I do think A1923 improved the CCP version.
