Regarding soles, have been using my pair every 3-4 day since I got them last summer and the soles have hold upp very well. Can't even say that they have been worn down at all! Of course a little bit, but they are nothing at all like the Rick-sneakers.

The laces on the other hand, one broke when I tied one of the shoes a month ago.

bestial, would you say protective soles are not necessary on the sneakers?

so far, i have seen these sneakers in:

1. black with white soles, greenish grey with white soles (last season)
2. pink (who's selling these?)
3. black with black soles (A)
4. black with white soles rubbed with shoe polish (Darklands)

I wouldn't bother. Change them when they run out after some years.

i'll keep that in mind, although i'm pretty hard on my shoes. i'm expecting my black with white next week..

well, I looked at them, have worn out a little bit less then half of the sole in the far outer back, nothing else. although I'm a bit curious on how they will solve the resoling with the stitches.

it's probably easier then baking spunge cake, but I don't have a clue!

For the sake of £20 and the fact that it makes no difference visually, and makes them last far longer, why not just vibram?
I looked at the original sole before I vibramed and it looked too hard/impossible to replace one worn down.

Enders. I have the black with white soles and think they are the nicest iteration. Congrats and enjoy.

oh, didn't want to offend you, I just got the feeling that it wasn't as important as with other shoes. :) I had planned on getting them to a cobbler some day, but tought that a year at least would work.

yeah, i'll probably put some protection on them, but will most likely wear them leather on asphalt for a few weeks to enjoy that little bit of luxury..

yeah i agree eton, black with white soles look the best..

bestial, you mean these grey ones? closest to all-white i guess, but still not white and not too crazy about the perforated tongue..



and speaking of next year, i wish these were all in uniform color, and not blotchy white on top. i still need a cloth over leather boot in my arsnal..

Thought the perforated tongue worked quite well. Kinda brakes up the look.

a really good place in london nw3 (in finchley road tube station) who does all my stuff - just a small place, but they know what i like....and they carry white vibram as per my pic

will check out the hostem version...sounds interesting - was actually going to pop in there today, but decided i'd spent enough $$$.

enders - will try and hunt down a pics of the elastic but were pretty funky....had no laces and a thick elastic band around the ankle...they are for ss11
