Not very helpful to the subject, but I recently stayed at this family friend's house, and they had this amazing tome of a book called something like "Japanese Fashion Now" from 1991 I think. Profiling Yohji and the like, I really wanted to steal it.

Got that one from my sister for this years birthday, nice little run through Europes upcoming fashiondesginers, not so much fact than pictures though, just very short texts on one page for each designers, then like 3-4 pages of photographs.

I think I initially read about it on this thread, but I purchased "The Beautiful Fall" the evening that it was announced that Yves St. Laurent had passed away. It's a pretty interesting read just to understand the background of St. Laurent and Lagerfeld. There are also decent pieces of text devoted to Kenzo and other designers, as well as fashion related socialites in 70's Paris. I wish it was a bit more extensive on the design process, but it is a biography after all. I'm only a bit more than half way through it at the moment.

^ Yes, it's a great book isn't it? I found the dynamics between YSL and Lagerfeld, Pierre Berge, and all the other people are really very interesting. Certainly a great read.
