(in a good way )
Anyway, I absolutely love the use of black fur. I think a Rick Owens fur coat should be considered the next level (can't really tell if that thing is a coat or a vest, love it either way though)

(Transferred from Rick Owens/'Designers and Their Work forum):
Would love to know the details on the material (wool) he's using on his non-leather pieces here.
Exhilarated by the distinct jump in substance, quality, shape, even the styling.
Excited to see that the shows focus moves constantly to different elements throughout the show and doesn't just lean on an endless stream of desirable leather jackets and crazy(yet also desirable)boots.
Impressed by this shows abundance of typically out-there looks with the distinction that I would like to wear many of the looks from this show head to toe if given the chance (funding, scholarship, whatever).
I feel he's bringing more of the conceptual/architectural substance usually reserved for the women's collections into this collection. (As Heirloom asked for previously (of Junya actually) and is receiving here in full!)
Standout looks/pieces for me:
Look 1. Hard to resist a skinhead, boy-priest from outer space look in all black wool.
(Even the turtlenecks in looks 8 and 15 are oddly special somehow.)
Toggle coats and hooded overcoats are great. Shearling, mink and/or red fox-remnant lined hooded coat is particularly bananas.
The dress-like wool wraps in looks 22-25 introduce an artfully unforced feminine quality.
White lining that pops in at look 26 is wonderful.
Look 27: Ribbed knife jacket overcoat.
33-36 is just fantastic: I love the near-navy blue, satin obi-sash-cummerbunds.
'Chaka' (look 36) is especially great.Last edited by BUMMER; 01-22-2011, 01:08 AM.

From Dazed
How would you sum up the collection?
"Service! I never really analyse beforehand but now, looking back, I can see what I was thinking. There's almost Priestly and gas station attended looks, and sort of military influences. I like the idea of 'service' and 'responsibility' in fashion, they are positive messages that don't get put out there very often in a fashion context. Service is the opposite of entitlement and think I there's a lot of entitlement in the fashion world and I wanted to propose something different."Hi. I like your necklace. - It's actually a rape whistle, but the whistle part fell off.
