Pretty much all footwear requires significant manual labor, some just use more handstitching than others but you could call even nikes "handmade" in a way. The labor is just Chinese instead of Italian.

i'd say no, it is too gimmicky. a blazer doesn't necessarily have to be of the traditional kind, but that one is too out there and doesn't seem like a piece that would last lovingly in a closet.

There is sheer, flesh colored fabric that holds the two parts together. The problem is, it snags quite easily.
