If I could get the DBSS without the Hot Topic pyramid stud treatment, I'd consider it. But I don't see why going with a knock off (or inspired version, as they say) is better than going with the original.
If Diesel made this same shoe (and they pretty much do) they'd get laughed out of any thread in all honestly.
I know the craftsmanship and materials on these are likely immaculate but the idea is a pilfered one. I think aesthetically they're nice shoes, but still a knock-off is a knock-off.
And those studs blow the whole thing in my opinion. Flirting too much with the Lip Service/Kill City china look thing.Originally posted by mizzarSorry for being kind of a dick to you.

Yeah, I don't like the DBSS ones at all, stylistically.
The Rick ones have such a history, it's hard to beat them. They're one of the most hotly discussed shoes recently, at least. And it's not really "just another sneaker" you really do have to call them "trainer boots".
Servo: I prefer the black/milk ones for sneakers, just because you get the dark Rick feel with the classic white trashed sneaker potential. I like the all blacks too, because they are definitely more versatile, and you can wear more with them, because they don't jump out at you as much as the other colourways, but still have a thrashed white rubber sole. Whites are an obvious choice if you want a thrashed pair of huge sneakers, but not my thing, really. I prefer the dichotomy of smooth black and messy white.Originally posted by philip nodsomebody should kop this. this is forever.

haven't seen any DBSS that impressed me much.

Definitely Rick Owens trainers.
The DBSS are fun, especially for the ex-hypebeast that many are but the Rick trainers are practically iconic. Also the leather is great and they only look better with age - I can't imagine the same is true of the DBSS.

I'm not a fan of the reeboks-on-steroids DBSS's as opposed to Rick's Nikes-on-steroids but the leather used on them is definitely nice (haven't seen these new ones in person so I can't say in regards to them but I imagine they're nice as well) but old beat pairs I've seen definitely look better than the new ones.

I think these Christian Peau ones are a cool alternative to DBSS.
