I'm around 175cm tall, for the high pair I'd probably fold down the top like in the pic so it doesn't look too high. As for the short pair I'm aware that the SS09 version is sold out, I was planning to wait for the AW09 version, should of bought the pair that you had for sale Damien

ah k, you're a similar height to me. not sure what the differences between the current low engineer boots and the FW09 boots will be (if any), but a small comparison of the SS09 boots to help you make a decision:

low engineer boots:
- waxed cow hide leather
- more aggressive toe shape
- back zip
- angled heel

high engineer boots:
- nubuck leather (sanded cow leather)
- sleeker toe shape
- side zip
- about 10cm taller
- straight heel
