funny enough, theres a pants with that same fabric. i tried it in store and it felt kinda plasticky. id pass
This fabric treatment of pleats run amok is a look that Miyake has been doing a lot lately. He often uses synthetics (a lot of polyester) but this particular jacket is 50%wool and the other 50% a poly/nylon. He does another jacket that has basically the same look but is lined with a colorful fabric and is 100% polyester. It has a very different touch. It's much lighter and definitely has a synthetic feel. The jacket in the above pic rather than feeling synthetic just feels different. Has the look and weight of wool, but it's clear that something else is going on since wool will not hold the creases. It's interesting. It's almost worth buying to see the look of confusion on my dry cleaner's face.
