I've now come to the conclusion that I really don't need a winter coat so I'm looking for a nice blazer instead. It should be perfect for the winter here (or lack there of).

That is a beautiful blazer/suit. I'd say get the whole suit if you can and just wear the components separately if the fabric works.

I'm looking for a boot to wear casually, with jeans mainly. I'm debating between the following two Officine Creative boots. Obviously they are very different boots. I'm drawn to both but leaning towards the first more rugged pair (which I would have dyed black -- would also appreciate any cautionaryadviceregardingdying this boot in particular -- I know my cobbler does a good job of it generally)

Just a word of caution on OC, the leather uppers on my boots ripped after wearing them like 4 times. Not just a tiny rip either, the boots were FUBAR.
Faust has the same pair and I don't think he's had any problems with them, maybe I just got a (really) unlucky pair.Comment

Yikes, Drexl. That's a concern. Any one else experience any problems with Officine Creative footwear? I've only handled and tried on some boots, never actually worn it.
