I wore the same pair of shoes all fall and winter. Had to get the entire heel rebuilt while the rubber sole isn't even close to needing replacement.
must it be rubber or can i just throw on another leather sole?

Get the Vibram sole...it's rubber but it's durable, wears evenly and adds a little spring to your step.
Trust me...it doesn't look cheap or out of place. A good cobbler can match the color fairly closely and it'll pay for itself 20 times over.

        Rick Owens Scuba Jacket...

Any thoughts on a half leather / half fabric vs an all leather or all nylon - thank you

Thanks for the input - really would like all leather, but the price is out of my range right now. So I will wait it out.

Either full leather, or mix. Don't get the appeal of a $1500 nylon jacket at all.

Thanks Faust. Saw your pic of the one combo you had. Is the cotton on it nice, or is it more of a jersey type?

And what if the nylon is in the 500-ish range?

Still stupid. But shit, you are the infamous RO sock guy, so you can ball ;-). The cotton on the back is jersey on the back (which is actually a smart choice for hot weather), on the front and sleeves it's a different type, like on raincoats. It's half lined in silk. To be fair, this was my stupidest purchase in terms of $$$ (not that I regret it), so there you have it...

Thanks. Wish the back was the raincoat cotton, even if the jersey is breathable. Bottom line is I wish there was someone with an all leather scuba at a good price in a medium.

possible to wear leather gloves with a leather jacket without looking like a bdsm fetishist?

As long as you're not running a mustache, I think it's fine.

                          From Arrested Development:

thanks for sharing your thoughts guys. I guess it just depends on the style of glove, the look works well during the kazuyuki kumagai runway presentations. a leather jacket doesn't really work with the Julius fingerless leather mittens, should look fine with fingerless or full hand leather gloves though.

I just talked to a german shop owner, who told me, that the pieces in parisian showroom fitted a lot smaller than the ones they actually received on order.

(yep, I know yall getting tired of me asking the sizing of _7 pieces)
