One wonders where it will end, when everything has become gay.

At first I was like, 'dick!' and then I was like, 'LOL!' because it's true.

So I just bought a pair of Rayon and Ramie pants by Y's at IF, they have a wrinkled treatment and the tag says the wrinkle is not permanent.

How "not permanent" are the wrinkles?

There are already enough warnings on the tag that make me think they'll explode if they go anywhere near my washing machine (or any kind of water for that matter)... but if I send them to the drycleaners letting them know they're supposed to be wrinkled what's going to happen?

Think you should be okay drycleaning and telling them not to iron or handwashing and wrinkle drying them. Have done this with good results with old Final Homme shirts but they were all cotton. So I will let the fabric experts chime in ...

Was there anything interesting in the basement at IF ? Last year they had a few Carpe Diem leather shirts if memory serves me right

The pants I bought :) I got the only pair unfortunately.

I'm not a big fan of IF, though I always end up trying to buy one or two basics at the basement sale... It's worth going to, though I didn't see any Carpe Diem stuff or anything else too out of the ordinary.

Most of what I've gotten there I've never worn because they some sort of bizarre detail... pants with no belt loops that fall down even if sized properly, pants where the pockets were sewn almost completely shut as part of the design (I tried to have them opened by a tailor and they ripped the first day), and these wrinkly pants I'll add to the list if they don't hold up to a cleaning.

I hear you, The good stuff never makes it to the basement though, Even their GUIDI buy is very sad. Great if you into CDG or Paul Harnden. My wife swears by IF though! So loads of goodies for the womenz...

IF is the best womens store in NYC, hands down.

^Was there when I was in NYC last. Awesome, awesome stuff.

Now, for my small question. Does anyone have any experience ordering from Luisa Via Roma or Antonioli? I'm always wary about ordering from places overseas. Smooth transactions, shipping, etc? Someone ease my mind.

Have ordered from LVR, all was well. You will pay 10% customs. Antonioli will automatically tack the customs on for you and save you the hassle.

^Aaah, nice. Thanks for the reply, Faust. Also, what's up with Antonioli's prices being significantly less than LVR's? Or am I just doing the conversions wrong.

                          *edit*

Is it because LVR's prices include VAT?
