EDIT: done and done. Worked out perfectly.

so it seems you already performed the alteration but i was going to suggest adding a pocket within the pocket. that would reduce the depth of the cavity without really affecting the drape.

could be a difference in fabric comp (cotton vs wool/cotton)

should be easy as most moleskins are Cotton,

only worry you have is most sewing threads are polyester based so you will have contrasting threads after the dyeing process

Old IS derbies were very narrow and fit at least one size too large, I'm wondering if that's the deal with new ones as well.

If you don't want to help that's fine but your opinion about another's body type is not what I'm after here.

we have quite a few large build men here. know your size and stick to it. dont try to squeeze into something that doesnt fit. yohji, cdg, ann, and rick come to mind when i think of a larger build. lose weight response would just be counter productive and unnecessary. good luck!
