Rigards eyewear
Hi everyone - posted in culture - eyewear - but thought this might be a better place to ask:
Just found this company http://rigards.com/
Has anyone handled these frames? I noticed that they are stocked at H Lorenzon and L'eclaireur.
Am desperate for new frames and would love some input

The fleece-like appearance is because they are sprayed with concrete as a treatment. The fabric itself is a heavy smooth cotton. There was another version in the same fabric without the treatment that was fairly common at many stockists.
Same pants as above, but the zoom shows a little better detail:
IIRC, the concrete treatment ones run small.

so, i just picked up a black jil sander suit from my tailor.
she's hemmed the legs for me. but she's done the inside ribbon so there is about a millimeter of it going below the actual fabric of the legs. and it's folded over itself slightly too so it is a bit more stiff right by the edge. it's very neatly and carefully done and she explained that this is how they always to it, and it is to protect the fabric from wear.
BUT, IT DOESN'T LOOK CLEAN AND MINIMAL. it's like there is a 1 mm seam or stripe at the bottom.
i understand that this MAY be a traditional and functional way of hemming pants, but i have never seen it before and i'm not sure i like it...
what do you guys think? should i get it redone?

I've seen it done that way, but I think its pretty pointless. a simple turn and stitch is fine imo"AVANT GUARDE HIGHEST FASHION. NOW NOW this is it people, these are the brands no one fucking knows and people are like WTF. they do everything by hand in their freaking secret basement and shit."

does it have a rough texture? the feeling of concrete on your pants?dying and coming back gives you considerable perspective

Not really. I actually own a cotton/cashmere t-shirt with that cement treatment and it's still soft. I imagine there may be some variation among individual pairs, but it won't feel like sandpaper or anything like that. I would also guess that on pants it would evolve nicely with wear.
