I would say Helmut Lang would be a good "starter" leather for 1K or less. The leather quality is good and his styles are usually quite minimalistic. Here's one for cheap:

i have seen it in person, and the textured leather is quite heavy and seems high quality. The collar is strange though. For 1K you can probably take your pick of the new SS09 stock.

Some seasons run quite slim, others true to size.

What kind of watch? Thepurists.com is the best place if you're looking to sell a Lange or a Patek, but other than that, Timezone's still probably the best place to go.

a friend was asking me in regards to more affordable shoe brands that make footwear like CCP/Cdiem in style. I recommended F&B and Buttero but couldn't think of anything else.

more importantly, are there places online to get such brands (and others that you would suggest) for around the $300 mark?

That's very true. Plus, they are more expensive.
I want to get one of the bug brooches from the menswear show and I would prefer to get it some place else if I can, but I don't remember seeing it at IF or A. (Finally went to the new A the weekend before last, and it's very nice!!! )

I saw them (the brooches) at Barneys NYC over the weekend...I think Aloha Rag has them priced lower. However, Barneys had 2 different sizes available.
