which lady?

the august sander photo-portrait is of a german secretary which does look like a less-than-ornate/flamboyant version of otto dix's sylvia von harden.

the other lady is nancy cunard -- she was the first to publish beckett, amongst her other notable feats.

there is actually a life sized portrait of her (all dressed in, i'm pretty certain, poiret)

by alvaro guevara at the local (aussie) national gallery.

I KNOW!! I just thought today that I'd finally put it on, without remembering the date he died, then at the end when the text came up that Ian Curtis died May 18th I was like "...MEEEP" - hate those wierd coincidences
