merz, thanks for the vid! Campbell caught them live in Berlin, I think that video shows Einsturzende Neubauten in their prime, I had no idea - killer.

      Inspirations for right now:

The last one's part of the ATLAS detector for the LHC at CERN. Mix and blend. Serve ice cold.

This is what comes to my mind when I try to imagine, in a kind of free association, what could have inspired those who created the clothes shown and beloved here or what those who are wearing them could like. Beuys has already been mentioned, so I start with another german fellow...

The guy in the third picture has hands that very well could have carved the world itself.

Wow, never thought I'd see someone list up CERN as a style-inspiration - amazing!!

I like the deep, almost unfathomed, wrinkles of his face. This is what I like in CCP boots too (or RO washed leather jackets): they are not new, they aren't used neither, they're beyond time, or emerging from an antediluvian area.
Fashion is, most of the time, a way to fight against the passing of time : everything has to be new, or look new (precious materials, brillant colours...), and when it gets used, thrown away. CCP shoes or RO leathers don't look old, they're aged, and they remind me also the time when you had only one pair of shoes for nearly an entire life. They could be worn out, you had to keep on wearing them, and they were getting old with you, pleats and wrinkles working together.

I had the entire thing about 90% downloaded a while back there but I never managed to finish it so I eventually just had to abandon the whole thing.
