Here in the States, our homeowner insurance do pay back I think. But one will need to have proof of purchase (receipts.). But what sucks is that once you make a claim, chance of your premium going up the following year is high!

.....so....last night, while my wife, myself, 2 kids and dog were in the house and asleep, we got burgled.

That is really awful eton. Makes it really hard to feel safe in one's own home. Not nearly as invasive or horrible, but yesterday my townhouse complex was redoing the asphalt so people had to park their cars on the streets. I bike to work so I was spared that, but biking into work this morning I saw a female sheriff canvasing like 6-8 cars that had their windows smashed in. People park there all the time I have to wonder if enterprising hooligans noticed the work and planned for the fact that people who normally wouldnt park there would park there and leave valuables in their cars...

Ahwell. i guess my roomate is right to be anal about making sure the door is always locked.
