Hmmm, I'd say fashion is most inauthentic/fantasy when it's put on young pretty skinny girls/boys, because it's aimed at people with money who and those by-and-large are not young pretty skinny girls/boys. Isn't the old adage of fashion selling fantasy? "If only I buy this, I will look/feel better?"

So, being pretty and young is the equivalent of having elitist taste but made flesh. They might not be numerous but they're the most relevant, in fact marketing shows us that pretty much everyone agrees, as you pointed out.

Traditionally and monetarily speaking, I think Fuuma is right. But for better or worse, fashion is in a postmodern phase, so I think there's a little more flexibility in what is authentic.
