Before I got them I considered the Atelier versions a sort of grail. Then they came, more destroyed than I expected. They were gross, like my shoes had some sort of leprosy. I was trying to keep them from peeling, but that seemed silly, so I have resigned to the fact that my shoes will have an inverse life span. Starting out black and tattered and ending up clean and white (light grey really).

"Black" But it's really very dark gray. Doldrums, not crazy about tweed - too much Harnden for my taste, if you know what I mean.

Yeah I have the same one. You may want to preemptively get the internal overlock stitching redone on the back at the right shoulder, as the burned wool fabric weave has a tendency to separate there over time.
