They wanted them to look like some kind of native american garb, apparently. Looks like something Cher would wear on stage.

They did (at least very recently) have the black bondage pants on yoox in a medium size and those were styled in the appropriate way, though I think it was a variation of this one.

I'm not sure if dying is going to work if the straps are made from that elastic material. Perhaps if you do it on your own they'll turn grey.

I don't believe the whole strap is elastic, I am guessing that only 5% is elastic, the rest cotton.

The way they have these styled makes me wish they would have had like 50 hands grabbing the elastic and stretching them. Then they could let go........................................

hand looms are still available, albeit ungodly expensive, and I could definitely see there being a niche market for artisan wool weaving.

don't quote me on this, but I remember reading somewhere that a good portion of the more expensive silks and brocades that come out of Central Asia and India are still woven on hand looms as well.
