amazing BSR, by far the best combats ever imo (ok, maybe "THE" boots by ann are close). Back then guidi supplied the leather for ricks boots right?

The best Rick combats FAR AND AWAY were done in nubuck leather with leather/vibram sole circa 08 and they were at Jeffrey at half off in my size and I did not pull the trigger and rue the day still. They were both elegant and kick-ass the way Ann's boots can be and nothing Rick has done since has quite matched them, though the sidezips I just got come close. Especially not those sorry ass ones BSR just got. Just look at them, droopy with shame at how sad they look.

lol @ faust, i used to own those reverse leather ones with the vibram soles, but did not like them so much, i know we disagree but i much prefer the crepe soles on this design. but i guess we completely disagree re combats because i've never seen the appeal of the overdesigned Ann footwear .

@morsto i don't think Rick used Guidi leather for them. I have been told he used Guidi skins only on a couple of leather jackets (kangaroo ones maybe), but they stopped sourcing the leather here cause it was too expensive for their production scales

I have the nubuck ones from 08 and I still wear them a lot and they're built like a tank. I like the smooth ones too, but don't they all have that ugly spongey rubber sole?
